What are Dentures & Partials?

Both partial and complete dentures are designed to replace missing teeth within the mouth. While a partial denture only replaces the few teeth that a patient is missing, complete dentures are designed to replace an entire arch of missing dentition. Both of these appliances are made to look natural and realistic, and they’re crafted perfectly for increased comfort and durability. The denture that you’re wearing can easily last for seven or more years with the proper care and maintenance.

What happens during the Denture & Partial procedure?

Dentures in Brentwood, CA

We will begin by taking impressions of your teeth and gums. These molds allow us to create beautifully customized dentures that you’ll wear comfortably. You’ll come back into the office after one or two weeks to have the denture fitted. It is not uncommon to need several fittings to ensure the denture fits properly. Once the denture is fitted perfectly, you’ll be ready to leave the office feeling confident in your brand new smile. You can expect the denture to last for roughly five to seven years with proper daily care.

If you would like to come into our office for a new partial or denture, call us today to schedule an appointment with one of our friendly team members.

Why are Dentures & Partials needed?

The reason a complete denture may be needed is because you have severely advanced gum disease or have many decayed teeth in your mouth. We may recommend removing all of your compromised or damaged teeth to place a denture instead. For our patients who still have most of their own healthy teeth, a partial denture is often the best option. This appliance allows you to keep your remaining teeth while still replacing what is missing.

Who is a candidate for Dentures & Partials?

We can perform an examination to determine if you may benefit from either a partial or denture. There is no age limit when it comes to benefiting from either of these appliances. Some of our patients choose to have implant-supported dentures, which are typically smaller in size and more secured in the mouth. If you need to have extractions done, this will be performed before the denture is made for you.
