Perio Protect™ is a specially designed system that helps to treat gingivitis and gum disease. When gingivitis and gum disease begin to form, small pockets between the tooth and gum become visible. You will first come in for an exam and to check your gums for signs of gingivitis and gum disease. Next, impressions are taken and sent to a lab where custom-made trays are created for you. These trays are then used in conjunction with the Perio Protect™ medication. You will need to wear the trays for several minutes a day while the medication works to penetrate the gingival pockets.
It is important that even with the help of Perio Protect™, you still come in twice a year for regular dental cleanings and checkups.
